Long and Short Romance Reviews
Voted Best Book of the Week by LASR readers

Highland Dragon is brisk, fast-paced, witty and completely sexy. The writing is crisp and concise with characters any reader can easily love. The point of view never jumps, and the scenes are well described and packed with delicious adjectives.

Highland Dragon brings medieval Scotland to life better than any other work I’ve ever read, employing authentic language, terminology and imagery while maintaining the story flow and not confusing the reader. I must award the author “A+++” on a fantastic job!

Ms. Killion is a talented story-teller. I plan to read any other novels she writes. Wonderful job for a writer who is definitely a must keep in the business. Don’t miss out on this must-read, fabulous novel.

The Good, The Bad and The Unread—Grade A

The adventure and action is paced fast and sure; the romance is fierce, passionate, and sweet; family and clan are honored by all; and Ms. Killion’s descriptions of characters and locale are wonderful. Even the dispair that runs rampant over this couple near the end of the book is felt to the bottom of your heart.

This is one of those books that you hate to put down, you need to find out what happens next. I recommend it very highly to historical fans. Hell, even non-historical readers should give this one a try.

HIGHLAND DRAGON is breathtakingly adventurous and brimming with an abundance of passionate yet heartfelt encounters.
Strong characterizations and a totally gripping premise will draw you into this remarkable story, but it is the interaction between the hero and heroine which keeps you devouring every word. Kimberly Killion brings historical stories to life with unparalleled believability. HIGHLAND DRAGON is a must-read, as its emotional impact and historical details are unforgettably notable.

5 STARS - LOVED IT! COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN (if I could give it 10 stars you bet your bippy I would!)

[Laird Calin MacLeod], oh I so adore him, although a brute he is a brute with a heart, and his soul belongs to Akira as he defends his love and his clan to find a peace inside his heart from all the vengeance and hatred that has been living inside him for eighteen years. You want to root for him throughout every page! They are both cunning and cleaver, fiercely loyal, insecure with their emotions at times and yet both Calin and Akira have this magnetic power by the grace of Kimberly Killion's words to time-warp you back to 1502 and experience their struggle for love and peace, as well as their grief at times. I was truly enthralled and taken away!

Heather's Reading Romance

Highland Dragon is a definite must read for 2009!

Calin and Akira let the sparks fly. There is a tension between the two from the very beginning. I love how sweet and gentle Calin is with Akira; and how demanding Akira is of Calin. Akira definitely is a heroine I won't soon forget. The passion she displays towards everything is something to be admired.

Kimberly Killion has done it again with this novel. I have to say this story kept me riveted the entire time. The relationship between Calin and Akira is one you would (or at least should) expect from any Highland medieval story – strong, passionate, opinionated, and sensual with utter devotion and conquering love as the threads that bind hearts and souls together.

The cast of secondary characters is second to none. From the despicable, creepy (really creepy!) Laird Kinnon to the adorable, young Andrew who grabs at your heartstrings to the older, feisty Aunt Wanda who gives the elders of the clan a tongue lashing to best friend Kendrick who is begging for his own story to be told (or at least I’m begging for his story!). All of these unique individuals add just the right amount of flavor to this story.

Killion's newest Scottish-set novel demonstrates her ability to create captivating, finely written romance. Well told, with excellent pacing and characters who are honorable, intelligent and full of humanity, this is a tale to cherish.

HIGHLAND DRAGON is author Kimberly Killion's second novel and I enjoyed it every bit as much as the first, HER ONE DESIRE. HIGHLAND DRAGON is set in medieval Scotland and through rich and lush descriptions of the landscape and characters, as well as a spot-on grasp of the dialect, Ms. Killion manages to transport the reader back to that time in history. The story is fast-paced and riveting, with many unexpected twists and turns. The main characters, Calin and Akira, have a genuine chemistry, which translates into some extremely hot and steamy love scenes. I highly recommend HIGHLAND DRAGON to lovers of historical romance who are looking for an engaging, sexy and accurate portrayal of life, love and betrayal in the Scottish Highlands.

Engaging and exciting, HIGHLAND DRAGON captures your attention right from the first page. With a well thought out plot and two very complex and strong characters, this book leaves the reader breathless in anticipation of what's to come. Kimberly Killion is quickly becoming a master of all things medieval as she dares to be original with her characters incorporating a true description of what life was like without the constant glamorization and glossing over of a brutal truth and era.
